CG Magic Railing Generator: Customize Your Own Railing Library

In our series of the “CG Magic generators for interior design”, what we’d like to introduce today, is our Railing Generator. Following the previous staircase generator, this time we will take Railing Generator, which is closely related to it, as an example to introduce how CG Magic can help designers optimize their workflow from multiple dimensions.

The Railing Generator consists of three asset libraries: handrails, columns and big columns. Taking stairs as an example, the corresponding parts of the three are shown in the figure below.

The Railing Generator allows users not only to generate assets, but also replace the existed ones or customize your own assets and saved in the libraries.

To Generator:

To create railings with the generator, you may:

a. Select types and set parameters

Select the types of handrail (hand), the middle railings (Colum.), and the railings at both ends (Big Col.) from the three types of assets libraries, and set the handrail height (Heig.) and spacing (Inter.) parameters;

b. Select or create the target shape

Select or create the target shape for generating railings, and the generator will create railings based on this shape;

c. Generate

Click Generate to create.

To replace:

To replace the existed objects with assets in the libraries:

a. Select the targe object to be replaced;

b. Choose the assets you’d like to replace with;

c. Right click and click Apply to replace;

To customize your asset library:

a. Select your own railing or right click and select Edit to change the assets provided by CG Magic;

b. Edit your objects;

c. Click ↑ to save the assets to the library;
